Must HOWZIT biltong be refrigerated?
No not initially. Certainly not under a standard UK air temperature of 9–18 degrees Celsius .
We do however recommend that you eat your biltong 2 to 3 days after opening (if you can last that long)! Keeping the bag sealed and refrigerated will help prevent the meat from drying excessively, and as time passes, ambient air will make the meat a little too tough to enjoy.
How should HOWZIT Biltong be stored?
Biltong will only start forming mold when exposed to oxygen and heat. So as a rule, wrap your biltong in a kraft paper bag and store it in the fridge. The kraft paper will allow excess moisture to continue leaving the meat, therefore discouraging mold growth..
General rules:
• Keep Biltong in a dry, cool place and avoid direct sunlight and heat.
• Use kraft paper not plastic, keep it sealed.
• Shuffle moist biltong in the bag.
For extended Storage Periods, HOWZIT biltong can be stored & frozen but preferably by vacuum sealing it within a plastic bag. Before eating, take the biltong out the freezer, wait 1-hour to thaw – and it will be ready to eat once at room temperature.
Does HOWZIT Biltong have a high volume of natural protein?
Oh yes!
As a high-performance athlete, fitness fanatic or simply a health-conscious outdoor person, you’ll be glad to know that HOWZIT biltong is a wonderful food source to help build your body as it has one of the highest protein contents.
What is HOWZIT Shipping and return policy?
We don’t prepack our biltong and only make it fresh when you order, so it won’t arrive the next day, Please give it 3 to 4 days before we send it to you via DPD.

Whilst we can ship Monday through Friday, we prefer to ship as many orders as possible on Monday or Tuesday, to prevent your HOWZIT biltong from spending time over a weekend in the middle of nowhere.
Most importantly, we always want to know if you aren’t happy. If you aren’t satisfied with the HOWZIT biltong you ordered, please return it in its original packaging for a full refund within 48 hours of receipt from our facility. Returns will be administered as replacement of the same or different product of equal value.
Unfortunately, the return shipping will be paid by you.
